Vision Boards
Vision Boards are a collection of images arranged in a way to help you visualize your goals or vision. This is a highly versatile way to create a visual representation of a personal vision statement. I started making vision boards a few years ago after reading Dream it. Pin it. Live it., by Terri Savelle. Her book is a great resource for anyone who has never done a vision board before. How you make your vision board is up to you! You can use a cork board, a poster board, or you can make a digital version. However, you choose to make your vision board is up to you, just make sure it is somewhere that you can look at daily and throughout the day.
Supplies
Now, it is time to gather supplies. The supplies you need will depend on how you choose to go about making your vision board. If you prefer to keep it simple, then you may only need a piece of paper and a pen. If you are a visual creative person, you may want to gather up poster/foam board, glue, tape, old magazines, markers, stickers, and scrapbook making supplies. Vision boards shouldn’t be too busy. You may choose to make a digital version as well. Making a Pinterst Board on Pinterest may be an easy way to gather pictures of items that will help express your vision visually. Pinterest also has a lot of examples you can look at for ideas.
Goals
Before assembling the board, you want to write down your goals. It is important to have a deadline for your goals and to have that information on your board. Look for pictures that go along with your goals. You can also look for words that you might want to highlight and cut them out as well. Once your board is finished, you will want to place it somewhere that you will see every day. Lastly, if you make a physical board, you should take a picture of it and keep it on your phone, so that when you aren’t home, you can still look at it and keep those goals close by.
